With school starting early this year, so did the second semester, and in m turn, spring break. It has been an unusually cold winter, with several tastes of winter weather, which has done little more than disrupt school due to ice. We were ready for some real snow, so we jumped on a plane and headed to Colorado for our break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We arrived in Denver, grabbed our rental car (we enjoyed the Jeep Wagoneer so much on our last Steamboat trip that we didn’t give ourselves the option of picking anything else), and then headed towards Silverthorne. First stop was fueling up at Pho 92<\/a>. We quickly made ourselves at home in our Airbnb<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sunday, we suited up and drove to Copper Mountain<\/a>. It was a beautiful bluebird day. The next few days were the same. Copper Mountain had a great base, and the skiing was terrific. On Wednesday, we decided to mix things up and took a road trip to Aspen. Along the way, we stopped at Village Bagel<\/a>. We had a great day at Aspen Snowmass<\/a>. The highlight was the hike up and run down the Long Shot trail. On the way back to Silverthorne, we had dinner at Mod Thai House<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next two days we were back at Copper. Ansel enjoyed dragging Kristie and Jay all over the mountain. She particularly enjoyed taking the Storm King T-Bar lift to the experts only terrain at the Three Bears Lift. She also enjoyed ducking into any trail through the trees that she could find and convincing Jay to take different mogul runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We don’t see much of Parker on the mountain. He likes to run the fall line and disappears as he leaves us in his dust, er, snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
